Objectives, Graduate Competence and International Partnership of Japanese Area Studies,Post Graduate Program, Universitas Indonesia:

OBJECTIVE
1. To generate lecturer and researcher at Masters degree level which concentrate in Japanese studies

2. To educate the students to enhance capabilities analyzing and handling on many issues related to Japan

3. To prepare each potential students to continue their studies to Doctor Degree

GRADUATE COMPETENCE

Japanese Area studies program focused on training people at Masters Degree level about Japan in several concentrates:

  • Society and Culture
  • Corporate Culture
  • Diplomacy and Culture
  • Religion and Culture
  • Language and Culture
  • Literature and Culture
  • Art and Culture


INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP

The program has cooperated with several organizations in Japan. The Japan Foundation gives support since 1990, and provides scholarship to five students yearly. Other types of scholarship are also given to prospective student studying Japanese language or doing short term research in Japan.

Some of the lecturers came from Japan universities each year. Prof. Mitsuharu Mitsui, from Hyogo University, sponsored by Rotary Club, had been teaching from January to March 2007. And also Prof. Hideki Kan from Seinan Jo Gakuin University, sponsored by Japan Foundation, came on August 2007. And other lecturers teach from various universities like Tohoku University, Asia University, Tenri University, and Hiroshima University.
